From a young age, Tracey always had the desire to care for the health and wellbeing of others, this was highlighted when she began caring for the elderly in a resthome at the age of sixteen.
Tracey has been working as a Registered Nurse for 26 years in a variety of roles from orthopaedic trauma, to a communal child health nurse. In 2008 Tracey decided to specialise in the ear health field, following this, Tracey performed her specialties in an Ear Nose and Throat out-patient department for five years whilst she ran her own part-time microsuction business in Christchurch, New Zealand. Eventually she built up the clientele to allow her business to become full-time.
Three years later, it came to her attention that this procedure was not at all common in Australia. Therefore Tracey decided to move to the Gold Coast in her attempt for micro-suction to become the primary procedure for wax removal in Australia. Ear Cleaning Clinic has been running since mid-2015.
Q. Why are you so passionate about microsuction?
Tracey: Blocked ears not only cause pain, but concentration issues, dizziness, hearing loss, frustration, infection and many more complications. These are things that can hugely affect the mind and body.
Q. What’s your favourite part about your job?
Tracey: People tell me I’m a lifesaver, and I feel so proud to be making a big change for people. Blocked ears can be very isolating.
Q. What is your greatest mission for your business?
Tracey: My biggest goal is to address the extreme importance of ear health throughout Australia. From toddlers to the elderly – it is vital to maintain correct ear health always, as too much wax can cause lack of communication and learning.
