Our Head Registered Nurse, Tracy has been working in a variety of nursing roles from orthopaedic trauma, to a communal child health for the past 26 years.

In 2008 she decided to specialise in the ear health field, following this, Tracy performed her specialities in an Ear Nose and Throat out-patient department for five years. She now has been performing the microsuction procedure for over a decade.

Countries such as New Zealand and the United Kingdom have now prohibited water ear syringing due to the high risk of infections and ear drum perforation. Tracy’s vision is to make micro-suction the primary procedure for ear wax removal in Australia as it has in many other countries.

Q. Why are you so passionate about micro-suction?
A. Sometimes people think that they need hearing aids or if they have hearing aids they think that they just aren’t working properly but more often than not, the issue is just wax. Over many years of ear wax removal, I have seen many clients with impacted wax, pain and infection caused by failed syringing – so it makes me proud to help so many people.

Q. What’s your favourite part about your job?
A. It is so rewarding to be able to make people feel better fairly quickly by relieving their pain and improving their hearing in just 15 minutes.

Q. What is your greatest mission?
A. My biggest goal is to improve wellbeing and quality of life for people of all ages . Excessive wax can affect many individuals due to the inability to hear. In particular, children’s concentration and learning can be severely compromised, whilst elderly individuals may become isolated and distant.
